There is a kitchen gadget for every kind of food prep activity, but do you have the space for storing it?
There’s a tool for coring pineapples, watermelon cube slicing, lattice dough cutting etc… If you need help in the kitchen there’s a tool for it!
If you have invested in a full tool kit for every possible use, you may also need to invest in a tool or system for storing these. Some kitchens may not have extra drawers for storage and some tools can take up a lot of space. Most people end up storing these in other parts of the house and then forgetting these exist.
Let’s get creative in our storing needs.
By now, you may have seen many types of customizable drawer organizers or systems for these gadgets, but you don’t have to spend money on expensive systems. Let’s look at some options, that won’t’ break the bank.
- There are expandable dividers, which can be used to separate the items and keep them from moving around in the drawer.
- You can also try utilizing the backsplash vertical space to mount a hook bar rack, where you can hang your most used kitchen utensils.
- If you find a peg board style you like, creatively and colorfully hang your utensils.
- Are you fortunate to have a deep pull-out drawer storage? If so, you can store your longer, larger utensils vertically in custom holders or you can create your own using mason jars.
- Utilize your counter space, you can store them in an eye pleasing stoneware container.
- If you lack the space for vertical hanging, or you don’t have the pull-out drawers or enough drawer space for the dividers, you can also tastefully hang these on the side of a cabinet or inside a cabinet.
As you are organizing your gadgets, it will be a good opportunity to sort your duplicates or the ones you don’t use or have never used and get rid of them to make room for the kitchen tools you do use. Before the invention of these new tools, we were able to prep our meals and had more space for other kitchen necessities. Consider just how many gadgets you really need and there will be less to wash and store.
